Technology is here to stay and it’s invading every nook and cranny we can think of, so sorry to say, but if you are a Neo-Luddite, you are failing miserably. From art, make up, fashion, games, you name it; the techy ones are winning. And you know what they say, if you can’t beat’em, join’em! Looks like its time to say; “Yay techno-nerds!!! Thanks for making more stuff.” Well, we all know by now, that video games aren’t just for pimply faced sexually repressed teenage boys anymore, but we never though they would go this far! Video games have taken on a new life, thanks to the Michel Gondry of video games, Jeremiah Palecek. Palecek, like Gondry believes the dreaming world and gaming, or living world in Gondry’s case, are incredibly close. The video games that made their way into his dreams, soon found themselves the subject of his art. When he’s not playing video games this Prague based artist is creating stunning oil paintings based on scenes from the games themselves. So is that art imitating life, or life imitating art?
Sometimes you see things, and you wonder how the hell did someone come up with that?! That’s how I felt when I saw Melissa Borrell’s jewelry. I’ve never seen anything like and I just couldn’t help thinking how B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L it would look draped across my neck. But seriously how did she come up with this?! She looked at a topographic map and translated it into jewelry. What?! I know; that’s what I said too! This chicky has got something special, and you can have it too. Isn’t that nice!
Boys, boys, boys, boys! Don’t worry you are always on mind (hehe Pet Shop Boys). I love you so, and just to prove it, I have something special just for you, or should I say IsseyMiyake has something special just for you. His Fall 2006 collection is filled with slick lines, bold colours, techy textures, and oh so hot cuts. Fashion technology is movin’ on up, and getting just that much sexier for men. So please! Please! Go get some just so I can look at you, it will make me so happy. Since we’re talking about all things techy, we have to have to give kudos to Core77. This website is one of the best out there for forward design thinking! We have found so many goodies here that we decided it was time to share it with all you! Just to give you a little taste of what kind of treats these guys feature, have a look at Singapore based designer Jaren Goh’s little black book! This little lap top is so sleek, it’s almost slippery. And then there’s the Black Diamond phone he designed for VIPN. Its ultra-glossy finish is slicker than an oil spill; forget the RAZOR, all the fashionistas and tech-junkies are gonna be all over this phone like a fat kid on a Smartie!
