Straight Up Beauty!
There is no faster way to beauty than a straight line: think Cleopatra, Bridget Bardot, or Audrey Hepburn. I really like MAC Fluidline in Ostentatious, which is a brown. It’s great if you are looking for a softer version: otherwise we all know the value of black! It’s a simple intense flirtatious statement, and very easy to apply! Simply hold your eye taut, and aim for a thin rather than thick line. Be sure to apply with a quick light brush stroke. Do NOT press hard, and do not go slowly, that will make the line crooked! If you need to clean up little slips, just dab the area with a damp Q-tip. To get the full effect of this look, the rest of your face should be relatively subdued, a bit of gloss and a bit of blush, and no doubt you will be the belle of the ball!

Well you lucky Torontonians, it’s here. Toronto is currently the centre of the universe. The Toronto International Film Festival has arrived. From September 7th - 16th Toronto will have everything for the hungry groupie to the indy-movie geek, and everything in between. So get ready to get glammed up, cultured out, and most probably; sauced up! But don’t forget to keep going back to the TIFF website for daily updates and pics!

TIFF is known to be nine days of sheer decadence and indulgence for some, and intense schmoozing and hobnobbing for others. This city will be full to the brim of some of the world’s most acclaimed creative and dynamic commercial forces. So if you want to make a grandiose impression we have a few ideas to help arrive and survive TIFF in style!

There is a fantastic service from the artistgrouplimited.com called the Red Carpet Service. This little gem will take all the stress out of getting ready for any event. This talented team of savvy celebrity makeup artists, hair stylists and fashion stylists are available to come to you, and get you beautiful, or dapper for your event. These guys are pros, and will make you up into the hottest arm candy this side of the sun (psst, they also offer lessons)! Now if that’s not star treatment, I don’t know what is!

Next up is your ride. If you’re tired of driving your Honda Civic, why not try something a little more exotic? Picture yourself rolling on a sexy Harley Davidson, or a Porsche, Ferrari, Diablo Roadster, or old School Dodge Charger. But be forewarned of the rubber neck affect driving one of these vehicles will have on onlookers. Whatever your automotive fantasies are GTAExotics can make them happen, except of course, if your fantasies involve Tawny Kitaen writhing around on the car!

Now we all know fabulous nights of partying with the stars (and you can party late at TIFF sponsored venues with 4am extended liquor licenses) can leave you feeling, shall we say less attractive than Blossom Russo. We have two solutions:

1. Prevention: Late night nosh. Many local Torontonians frequent the late night Chinese Restaurants on Spadina, but we have to stand by 7 West Café. Open all night, and the food is top notch!

2. Resolution: The hair of the dog that bit’cha! Hailed the hang over cure for as long as it has been around is the Bloody Mary. The bars won’t be open by the time you have to get up, so here’s what you need for the perfect Bloody Mary:

- 2 oz vodka
- 3 oz Tomato Juice
- 1/2 oz Lemon Juice
- Black Pepper & Salt
- 3 dashes Worcestershire
- 2 drops Tabasco sauce

Mix it all up over ice in a highball and garnish with a lemon wedge and celery (DO NOT FORGET the celery) and drink up you’ll be good as new!

I know I said Toronto is the centre of the universe during TIFF, but there is one thing going that’s worth sharing the spotlight. New York Fashion Week kicks off September 8 th-15 th. NY Fashion Week has been known to launch numerous careers forward, so if you can swing it, grab some friends, charter a plane, hit the shows and get back here for Toronto’s little darling, TIFF!
