Stealing Beauty: Behind the Scenes at Arthur Mendonca
A Pro Piece
by Min Min Ma

The key look at Arthur Mendoncas’ spring/summer 07 collection is sexy, feminine and edgy. Think: bone-straight shiny hair and glorious, radiant skin. Key tricks to attaining the look: investing in the best straightening iron and skin care regimen (read: dermatologist) your wallet will permit!

Makeup at Arthur is going to be all about the eyes. Emphasize your eyes with a bold, shimmery shade and top with lots of mascara. Balance this look with well-groomed eyebrows (threading trumps waxing ladies!) and natural creamy lips.

Our latest obsession and absolute must-have for Toronto Fashion Week is the Zola Spa Essentials Collection ($28). Created by Debra Anissimoff (owner of Zola) and Susanne Langmuir (founder of Susanne Lang Parfumerie), the collection is designed to make legs and feet look, feel and smell as gorgeous as your favorite pair of pumps. This three part series includes a foaming scrub to polish, a dry oil to soften and luxuriate, and a roll on scent with notes of pink grapefruit and Tahitian vanilla; leaving your petite-pieds looking as stunning as your sexy stilettos, killer boots and patent platform wedges.

1.Arthur Mendonca…Always entertaining. Always hot models.
2. Bully…Love to see what those boys pull out of their pants.
3. Pink Tartan…Classic. Classic. Classic.
4. Andy The-Anh…Hoping for a spring/summer ‘05 repeat.
5. Marie Saint Pierre…Great to have her back in T.O

Looking for a hot spot to knock back a drink. Or two. Or three. Look no further than L’Atelier. Boasting a posh 510 King Street West address, this lounge is the place to be. The décor and overall vibe is eclectic, textural and oh-so-chic. Features include a black-lace bar-top, an encased vintage rod iron fence, and rich sumptuous fabrics draped in the banquettes. Sound too good to be true? It is. Seems L’Atelier is a private venue, open only to VIP’s, A-listers and celebutants. (sorry Mr/Mrs Smith.)

Fashion whores. Shoe junkies. Beauty queens. Rival the best-dressed editrex with a killer ensemble. Think sharp, sleek and insanely ferocious as you dress your ass before parlaying from show to show. Key pieces to include: Balenciaga, botox and a Bijon named Brittney.
