"In True LA Style"

Fall is officially here. With the days getting shorter and colder it’s time to bust out your Chloe Puffer, Jimmy Choo Patent Boots and Burberry Baker Boy Hat. Sigh. But in the world of fashion Spring Has Sprung!!! Join us on a trip to Cali for the Spring 2007 Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Los Angeles. Starting October 15 th, La La land will be all about fashion, fun and sheer fandemonium. Hosted by Smashbox Studios this is the place to be-and-be-seen.

Dirty, deadly addictive, and purely pleasurable…there is nothing quite like a hit of morphine. (ahem…the clothing line!) Born in the rundown Hollywood garage of musician/graphic artist Erik Hart, Morphine Generation has quickly become a cult favorite among an elite set of “heretics and hopeless romantics” alike. These handmade one-offs are sexy, edgy are worked-in like your favorite old concert T. This rock and roll line is definitely not for your typical Blond Betty.

If you’re craving a little vintage-zen, look no further then the Avalon Beverly Hills hotel. Sleek, sexy and painstakingly cool; this innovative hideaway is the place to be-and-be- seen. Originally built in 1949 as the Beverly Carlton, this hot spot was once stomping ground to Marilyn Monroe and Mae West. Fifty years, and a major facelift later, the Avalon Beverly Hills is still the hot spot for the famous (Colin Farrell, Reese Witherspoon) infamous and style-seekers alike. With its’ trademark hourglass pool, Blue on Blue restaurant and poolside cabana’s; people watching while swigging a blue avalon is strongly recommended.

Cheers!

If your trip to LA Fashion week turns into a permanent stay, we have scouted your new must-have digs. Designed by architectural guru Stephen H. Kanner, The Bentley-Massachusetts Apartments are a study in form and structure. Vibrantly graceful, Kanner set out to “enliven and liberate the typical hermetically-sealed multifamily box”. In blurring the indoor-outdoor boundaries by encasing the building in a razor thin glass curtain wall, Kanner encourages the splendor of California dreaming…sun, grass, breeze and voyeurism. An average unit runs around $2600-$3100/month – but we’ll wave the usual 5% agent fee for a quick peek of your unit at night.

Beck has been L.A.’s lover boy since he made being a Loser cool in 1994 with his album Mellow Gold. This svelte little guy made his mark on not only the L.A music scene, but the international scene as well. His latest and ninth release, The Information, comes complete with Beck’s (visit his site it's unreal) trademark clever and intriguing style and lyrics. As with most Beck songs, meanings are fluid, imprecise, and listener-specific. And of course The Information’s got its fair share of slags at American culture. So get your act together and pick up tickets to his show at the Richo Coliseum on October 16 th 2006.
