Trolley Dollies. Airline stewardesses. Flight Attendants. Whatever the title, these ladies have long garnered a certain fixation from the male species. In attempt to bring back the excitement and sense of style once associated with travel, Delta Airlines has commissioned famed designer Richard Tyler to revamp dated uniforms. In conjuring silhouettes in midnight, red, platinum and gold, Delta is hoping to bring back the allure long associated with the ladies of the sky.

In bridging the gap between Snow White and Golden Goddess, here are the top-ten must-have items for your makeup bag:

1. Tinted moisturizer: ditch your heavy foundation in favor of this light alternative
2. Gel or cream blush: cakey powder never does well in the heat and humidity (try Benefit Stain for cheeks and lips)
3. Cream eyeshadow: go for a light shimmery gold or pearl
4. Tinted lip balm: look for one with a built in SPF (try Burts Bees or Cover FX’s Lip FX)
5. Waterproof mascara: there is just no excuse for raccoon eyes
6. Body Bling: to give your skin that sexy sultry glow at night
7. Dove Cleansing Cloths: quick and easy skin care system, so you can get on with other things
8. Light citrusy perfume: do not bring your weighty fall scent
9. Sunscreen: the lobster look has never been in vogue
10. Wax: though not officially a makeup, IT IS A PRE-TRAVEL ESSENTIAL. PERIOD.

**Remember: there are still restrictions in place when it comes to carry-on items.

As a rule of thumb... if you're afraid to loose it, pack it in your check-in luggage.

Is toting a ziplock bag through the airport a little too ghetto-chic for your liking? Lucky for us, Karl Lagerfeld felt the same way. In response to strict airport regulations, Karl rushed production of the Chanel Naked Bag. In recreating the houses’ classic chain handle bag in see-through PVC, you can once again travel in style. So go ahead. Get naked.

Has traveling become more stressful than your daily grind? With increased security procedures, and hour-long line-ups, airlines are looking for new ways to create a relaxing retreat for passengers in the airport lounges. British Airways has created a beautiful Spa at Heathrow Airport and JFK, complete with a pre and post flight massage. American Airlines has built a mini gym (with showers), and a business center at their arrival lounges at Heathrow and Charles de Gaulle. Cathay Pacific Airway in Hong Kong offers first class travelers private cabans, personal showers and oversized tubs to relax between flights. With all this pampering, who needs a vacation?

Looking for a little musical inspiration for your vaca? The clever people at Samsung have installed kiosks in Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport, which allows travelers to download anything from travel-themed tunes to Borats’ Christmas Carols. As an added bonus, you can download TV programs, audio books and more. With this service, you can now look forward to layovers.
