Pure Pedicure

Soak your feet in a warm water bath with a few drops of your favorite essential oil
(I like peppermint for the feet).

After a few minutes scrub the bottom of the foot with a pumice or foot file concentrating on the heel and big toe where callouses tend to build.

Push the cuticle around the nail bed back with a orangewood stick and trim/file if needed.

Dry toe nails and feet well and follow with a base coat, your favorite colour of polish and a top coat.

Make sure to finish with foot lotion! I like Kiehls Intensive Treatment and Moisturizer for Dry and Callused Areas

SpringFling

It’s that time of year, the birds are chirping, flowers are blooming; all signs point to one thing…Spring Has Sprung! It’s time to go out and get some! But before we run out to find our Spring Flings, there are a few things we need to take care of. The winter makes us all pedicure criminals, neglecting our feet, hiding them in thick socks and great boots. Well ladies, it’s time for a little TLC; and we have just the tools and tricks you need.

Before you give yourself a professional pedicure, you need to pick the polish. And who are you kidding any old nail polish simply will not do! You need TOE POLISH!DuWop, one of our favourite and most fun cosmetic lines has created a line of polishes just for your toes. The colours are high shine foot flattering shades, and are almost as fun as the names! Look out for flip flop, stiletto, wedge, glass slipper, sling back, and strappy sandal.

Once your feet are dolled up looking their best, it’s time to show them off! This season designers are asking, how high can you go? And the answer seems to be not high enough! Whether you chose a wedge, stiletto, or chunky heel, get those painted toes ready! Because you simply can’t miss out on shoes like Gucci’s chocolate crocodile 4 inch high ankle strap platform sandal with peep-toe and bow! I know, your eyes are tearing just looking at them! Me too.

Now you are Spring Fling worthy! And what’s better than a fling outside the city? The XIS INN in Stratford Ontario is the perfect escape. The six room hideaway conceptualized by contemporary design gurus Cecconi Simone will have you running for the ‘Please Do Not Disturb’ sign. If the urge to hit the town does smack you in the face, theatre and shopping are a step out the door, but you are on a Spring Fling after all.
