Well the nights aren’t as hot (temperature wise), the sweaters are coming out, and although the leaves haven’t changed yet, they will, soon….very soon. I know you want to cry in your summer cocktails and say fuck it! I am going to wear flip flops and short shorts as long as I can! We all know there is a better way to deal. Remember my lovely and loyal Cheek harem, fall fashion is here, and this is one of the most exciting times, just think of that über thick September Vogue that is awaiting you! See, Fall has many benefits.

This Fall eyes will be a big focus, as they should be! Shades of soft purples and browns, long lashes and flushed cheeks will give you an almost innocent and virtuous look (but don’t worry we know there is a tigress in there). Femininity is back with a vengeance, and hard looks fall to the wayside this season, but confidence always reigns supreme, as do bold lips! Full impact lips dominated Fall runways, but for a more wearable version of the look, try applying the deep cognac of NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Marina directly to lips. Concentrate in the center of top and bottom lips; then use your finger to blend out to the edges. Make the lip colour look deconstructed, rather than perfect, and remember throwing on a little gloss over top never hurt! Now you’re ready to rock the Fall!

It’s time to say good bye to those sun-kissed blonde tresses, and say hello to fuller more intoxicating tones. Hair colour is getting yummy and warm again. Deep, dark, rich browns are where it’s at, especially when accentuated with sumptuous highlights. Highlights add depth to your main, making you look like a smoking little vixen! They also help to add activity to what might be fairly drab hair. Pair’em with some good layering and you’ve got Fall’s best look! Even with short hair you want to be getting plenty of layering to help you build volume and movement.

If you're daring, black hair is one of the most striking looks you can have this fall. A jet-black mane sans highlights work great as a stark statement. If you want to be a bit bold, try putting it up in the back with a simple twist; and without much shaping at all, your hair becomes an art piece.

So now that you have your Fall look down, it’s time to show it off. Remember when I said Fall has many benefits? Well one of the biggest is the Toronto International Film Festival! It runs September 7 th–16 th. As always we will be inundated with oddles of celebs, but kiddies don’t get too tangled up in the fan fare, go out and see some of the films and lectures. TIFF is one of the top three film festivals in the world, so hurry and get to midnight madness! It’s an experience like no other!
